Welcome to the Breast Health Task Force of Southeastern, CT
Many of us know someone who has been touched by breast cancer – whether it’s a mother, grandmother, sister or friend. What many don’t know, however, is that the best way to fight breast cancer is through early detection. In fact, the five-year survival rate of a stage-one breast cancer diagnosis is 98 percent. That’s why we work to increase awareness and educate on the importance of monthly self breast exams, yearly physical exams and mammograms.
We also provide educational tips for a healthy lifestyle like choosing nutritional foods, exercise daily, taking time out for yourself, whether it be yoga, reading, meditation, prayer, music, sitting or walking in a quiet setting. All are great ways you can take charge and improve your health.
Please contact us if you have any questions, need to talk to someone, get direction, receive more information on services connected with early detection programs. There is help available to low income uninsured women who are eligible.
Knowledge is the key!
If you would like us to hold an outreach awareness event on “Early Detection for Breast Cancer” in your location, please contact us.
